Coenzyme Q10 Ubiqsome® Cuure, Phytosome® technology
Ubiqsome®, Phytosome® technology for CoQ10
Naturally present in the body, Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a molecule involved in the function of mitochondria, the cell structures responsible for energy production, particularly in tissues with high energy needs. Over time, natural CoQ10 levels can decline. Ubiqsome® delivers an innovative form of CoQ10 combined with Indena's Phytosome® technology, designed to optimize its cellular bioavailability.

BIOAVAILABILITY

Ubiqsome® and cellular absorption of CoQ10

An ex vivo study, conducted using low-density lipoproteins enriched with CoQ10 obtained from a randomized crossover study, compared the cellular availability of Ubiqsome® to that of standard CoQ10. The results show that Ubiqsome® significantly increases the amount of CoQ10 measured in human dermal fibroblasts, with a 103% increase compared to the standard form.

FAQ

Your questions frequently asked

Coenzyme Q10 was first discovered in 1957 by British researcher Frederick L. Crane and his team. They isolated the substance from beef heart mitochondria and identified it as a quinone present in cell membranes. Later research revealed that Coenzyme Q10 is present in every cell of the human body and in many living organisms, playing an essential role in cellular energy production. Over time, further studies looked at the effects of Coenzyme Q10 and its different forms, including ubiquinol and ubiquinone, ubiquinol being the reduced form of Coenzyme Q10.

Coenzyme Q10 is mainly found in animal-based foods such as offal (heart, liver, kidney), as well as beef, pork and lamb, which contain higher amounts than poultry. Fatty fish such as salmon or tuna are also good sources of Coenzyme Q10. Some plant sources also contain it, such as vegetable oils, nuts, seeds and legumes.
