Organic gum arabic

Organic gum arabic is a natural fibre extracted from the dried sap of two African acacia species, mainly Acacia senegal and Acacia seyal. Harvested in the Sahel region, it takes the form of translucent nodules that are then ground into a fine powder. Its plant origin and organic production process make it a particularly valued ingredient in formulations seeking a high standard of naturalness. Its physicochemical properties give it a role as a thickener, emulsifier and texturing agent in food and nutraceutical preparations. From a nutritional standpoint, gum arabic is largely composed of soluble fibres, particularly polysaccharides that resist digestion and contribute to nourishing the gut flora. Studies suggest that it helps maintain normal bowel transit and supports microbiome balance. In the context of supplementation, organic gum arabic is commonly used as an excipient to improve the texture and stability of capsules or powders. It is very well tolerated digestively and represents a source of prebiotic fibres that can be easily integrated into a daily nutritional routine.
