Magnesium Bisglycinate

Magnesium bisglycinate is a chelated form of magnesium in which the mineral is bound to two molecules of the amino acid glycine. This combination significantly improves intestinal absorption compared to common inorganic forms such as magnesium oxide or chloride, while offering excellent digestive tolerance. Magnesium is one of the most abundant minerals in the body and is involved in more than 300 enzymatic reactions. It contributes to reducing temporary fatigue, supports normal nervous system function, and helps maintain normal muscle function, including muscle relaxation. It also plays a role in energy metabolism and electrolyte balance. Magnesium intake is often insufficient in the modern diet, due to declining mineral content in soils and low consumption of magnesium-rich foods such as legumes, nuts, and whole grains. Supplementing with magnesium bisglycinate is a preferred option to address this deficit while minimising the gastrointestinal side effects commonly associated with other forms.
