Cranberry (Vaccinium subg. Oxycoccus) (standardized and optimized powder)

Cranberry (Vaccinium subg. Oxycoccus) is a small, tart red fruit native to North America, cultivated for centuries by indigenous peoples for its food and traditional uses. It is now used in standardised powder form, concentrating the key active compounds of interest, particularly type-A proanthocyanidins (PAC-A), polyphenols specific to this berry. Cranberry proanthocyanidins are widely studied for their ability to limit the adhesion of certain bacteria, notably Escherichia coli, to the walls of the urinary tract. This anti-adhesion property contributes to supporting urinary tract health. The fruit also contains flavonoids and vitamin C, which contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Supplementation with standardised cranberry extract provides reproducible concentrations of PAC-A that are difficult to achieve through fruit or juice consumption alone. It is particularly suited to those wishing to support their everyday urinary comfort.
