Astaxanthin-rich oleoresin extracted from Haematococcus pluvialis algae

Astaxanthin is a red-orange carotenoid pigment naturally found in certain microalgae, yeasts and crustaceans. The richest known source is the green microalga Haematococcus pluvialis, which synthesises this compound in response to unfavourable environmental conditions. The extract used in supplementation is a standardised oleoresin with a high natural astaxanthin content.
