Rice extract (Oryza sativa L)

Rice extract is derived from the grain of the rice plant (Oryza sativa L.), a cereal crop cultivated for thousands of years in Asia and now grown worldwide. Obtained through a natural processing method, it typically appears as a fine powder with lubricating and anti-caking properties. Its primary role in the manufacture of food supplements is technological: it prevents powder particles from clumping together and facilitates the filling of capsules or the compression of tablets. In this respect, it serves as a natural alternative to magnesium stearate, a synthetic excipient widely used in the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries. Rice extract is generally well tolerated and is suitable for those wishing to avoid synthetic additives. Its use contributes to ensuring the quality and consistency of finished dosage forms, while remaining compatible with clean-label formulations.
