Lion's Mane extract (70% beta-glucans) (Hericium erinaceus (Bull.) Pers.)

Lion's mane (Hericium erinaceus) is a medicinal mushroom native to Asia, easily recognised by its long white filaments resembling a mane. Used for centuries in traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine, it is now studied for its rich content of bioactive compounds, including beta-glucans, hericenones and erinacines. Beta-glucans, which make up 70% of this extract, are polysaccharides to which research attributes immunomodulatory properties. Hericenones and erinacines, unique to this mushroom, contribute to supporting cognitive function by promoting the synthesis of nerve growth factor (NGF), a protein essential to the maintenance and development of neurons. Supplementation with a standardised lion's mane extract provides a reproducible concentration of active compounds that is difficult to achieve through simple dietary consumption of fresh or dried mushroom. It is particularly suited to those looking to contribute to their mental clarity, memory and daily immune balance.
