Extrait de Mélisse (Melissa officinalis)

Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) is a herbaceous plant belonging to the Lamiaceae family, native to the Mediterranean basin and Central Asia. Cultivated since antiquity, it is recognised for its characteristic lemony scent and has long been used in European phytotherapy. Its extract is obtained from dried leaves, which are rich in active compounds such as rosmarinic acid, flavonoids and terpenes. Lemon balm is traditionally associated with relaxation and the management of occasional stress. Research suggests it contributes to reducing nervousness and promoting a sense of calm, notably by modulating GABAergic system activity. It is also studied for its role in supporting quality sleep, as well as for its properties relating to digestive comfort, particularly in cases of stress-related spasms or bloating. Supplementation with a standardised lemon balm extract delivers a reproducible concentration of active compounds, which can be difficult to achieve through herbal teas alone. It is particularly suited to individuals looking to support their daily nervous balance or improve the quality of their sleep onset.
