Rapeseed Lecithin

Rapeseed lecithin is a natural emulsifier extracted from the seeds of the rapeseed plant (Brassica napus), an oilseed crop widely cultivated across Europe. It belongs to the phospholipid family, a class of lipid molecules that play a key structural role in the body's cell membranes. Thanks to its dual affinity for both water and fats, rapeseed lecithin helps emulsify dietary fats and supports their transport and absorption in the body. The phospholipids it contains, particularly phosphatidylcholine, are involved in healthy liver function and lipid metabolism. They also contribute to the maintenance of cognitive functions, as phosphatidylcholine serves as a precursor to acetylcholine, a key neurotransmitter. As a plant-based alternative to soy lecithin, it is suitable for individuals wishing to avoid soy-derived ingredients. Rapeseed lecithin supplementation may be of interest for those whose dietary intake of phospholipids is insufficient, or whose specific needs call for a targeted complementary intake.
