Oil extracted from microalgae (Schizochytrium sp.)

Schizochytrium sp. microalgae oil is extracted from a unicellular marine microalgae cultivated in bioreactors under strictly controlled conditions. This plant-based, controlled origin gives it exceptional purity: it is entirely free from the environmental contaminants — heavy metals, dioxins, PCBs — that can be found in fish oils derived from wild fishing. This microalgae is naturally very rich in omega-3 fatty acids and represents one of the most concentrated plant-based sources of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). DHA contributes to normal brain function and normal vision. It also contributes to normal heart function (at 250 mg per day). Supplementing with Schizochytrium sp. oil is a relevant alternative to conventional marine oils, particularly for people following a vegetarian or vegan diet.
